Special Stitches & Yarn of many Threads!

I’ve been getting ready to teach a mini-class up at ‘Friends by the Sea’ rug camp at Rockaway, Oregon. I enjoy teaching special stitches to rug hookers because it opens up possiblities. Special Stitches can be just for fun or useful in creating various textures, mixing wools or blending values. I developed my little sampler; ‘Garden Heart’ a few years ago and decided to try a new colour plan. It hooks up quickly and could be expanded on each side by 2 inches to create a 14×14″ size rug; a perfect size for a little pillow!

I was given a bag of ‘yarn’ by the gals in the Thursday Group awhile back. If you remember my miniatures… 8 on one piece of backing… I’ve cut them apart and made little ‘Miniature Rug Portraits’. One of the yarns from the bag was made up of many strips of thread and it made a beautiful whipped edge, as illustrated. I’m not sure what kind of yarn this is… do you?
