2nd beautiful day at LRI rug camp

View of the inlet at Little River from the trail

There’s a nice little trail from Little River Inn down to the Van Damme State Park and Little River. Since it was a beautiful day and the weather was due to change… Emma and I took a walk after lunch on Tuesday.

Lots of Seagulls at the mouth of Little River.

Little River isn’t very big this time of year, but it’s the place to be… if you’re a seagull. The beach is hemmed in so there’s not much a walk to be had. On the other hand, Van Damme park offers a 2 mile walk to a Pigmy Forest.

High banks covered with trees

Van Damme park is nestled in a deep little valley, with Little River meandering through the camp sites. It’s cool and damp and lit up by dappled sunlight.

Little River creek

It’s always a treat to see a creek in California… most of our creeks are dry most of the year. Of course, this is supposed to be a river…

Sunshine reflecting on the water

I love the light, line and colour relected in the rippling water.

with a posterizing filter, i can get the lines to stand out.

We’ll talk about posterizing techniques at the Fiber Jam, this coming February!  Come join us!
