Cambria Pines Rug Show 2012 – Snow!

Maple Sugaring hooked by Larry Clark

I didn’t know they cooked the Maple syrup in the winter time, but what do I know. In any case, the beautiful sky makes this rug magical! Larry loves hooking with the fine cut and getting the details in.

Covered Bridge Snow Scene design by Maud Lewis hooked by Nancy Samuels

Nancy had 2 covered bridges at the rug show. I have fond memories of playing on frozen creeks and marveling at frozen waterfalls as a kid in Terrace, BC. we moved back to the states when I was 12, so i never had to do all those ‘snow chores’.

Snowy Christmas Card hooked by John Hund

John was going to hook this rug in yarn with a regular hook. He brought the project to the Fiber Jam at Asilomar earlier this year. Sarah Judith offered a ‘punch needle’ class and many of us enjoyed learning the technique and bought Oxford Punches. John realized that it was the key to creating this fun rug; quick and easy!

Ohio Snow design by Emma Webber hooked by Laura Pierce

this is another Christmas Card rug in a way… my mother Emma painted it with inspiration from a Christmas Card and added the crows. Emma is from Ohio and this scene reminded her of home. I’ve never hooked snow, so it was my maiden voyage.

Mr and Mrs Snowball design by Shannon Stangeland hooked by Pat Stangeland

I love the fact that the Mrs Snowball is taller than the Mr Snowball!

Santa design by Prairie Craft hooked by Pat Horn

Of course, the most famous Snow Guy is Santa! Pat took my class up at Rockaway Rug Camp and sure enjoyed hooking this jolly old elf! She was hooking a different Santa in Diane Phillips class at Cambria Pines 2012 Rug Camp and having more fun!

  1. Thanks for posting pictures of the rugs. I love to see what people are hooking at camp. Gail’s grand-dog is great! Can’t wait to see the rug you started, Laura!
