More Photos of Little River Inn Rug Camp VII

Nancy Quigley is instructing Susan Kleidon on her ORANGE Celtic Knot.

Anita has requested more rug camp photos… so I’ll start off with this one of Nancy Quigley instructing one of her students, while 2 others look on. Nancy’s been with me since the beginning of the camp… our 7th year! She’s a popular teacher and her class fills quickly. Nancy and her husband, Norman, enjoy Little River Inn and a bit of golf after class.

Barb Kennedy with student Maureen White

Barb Kennedy capped off her Rug Hooking Teacher career at Little River Inn! Relatively unknown in California, she is a popular teacher from Calgary, Alberta. Maureen White and Lynnette Lorenzen learned the art of rug hooking from Barb several years ago and traveled from Montana to take her last class.

Color Play by Sarah Province

It is always great to see what rugs people have been working on… this is one of Sarah Province’s geometric color studies.  She brought all 3, plus a couple of smaller portrait rugs.  The Geometric rugs are for sale… I particularly like this one… could happily live with it, eh?

Brigitta Phy teaches a Dye mini-class

I like to offer several mini-classes to rug campers, while giving attending teachers a chance to get in the act!  Brigitta Phy started off our mini-class line-up with a dye class in the Abalone Hall kitchen.  Her approach is to make dyeing accessible and easy; her students were very excited about giving it a try on their own.

Wind blown Pampas Grass frames my view of the Ocean.

The 1st day was a happy one, with sunshine and a great sea breeze.  All the rug campers were happy to be working on their projects.  I enjoyed the view of the beach from my room in the Annex where most of us stay.  Tomorrow I will post more photos…

  1. Great photos!! For sure I’m taking the mini dye class next year. I still haven’t tried dying my own wool. It’s time I gave it a try!!

  2. Thanks Laura!
