Following the plan… or not…

1 knob and 4 petals make a Poppy; a workshop's worth.

the center of the poppy hooks easy; small and round, surrounded by lacey black.  Getting into the petals, I kept adjusting the color pallette…  then i followed my plan for placement of the lights and darks.

However, I didn’t follow the middle shading plan so much; just evened it out… this is where I’ll make adjustments.

I’m going to the Sonoma County Fair tomorrow… to demonstrate Rug Hooking, so I’ll get another flower done.  I’ve cut the Orangy Red swatch from the original colour plan.   Since they are Icelandic Poppies, I can use lots of colours and have fun!  I’m also excited to make the biggest poppy yellow orange.
