Copying Rembrandt

almost finished - a young Rembrandt

hooking miniature portraits from portraits painted by the Masters helps a lot. The original is just a starting place. if i can get a resemblance, that’s great, if not… it doesn’t matter. i am getting a lot of experience and confidence with each portrait that comes together.

i think each portrait is taking about 2-3 hours, but i’m not sure; i’ll have to take notes on the next one. i’m wondering how much time would be good for a workshop on mini portraits… a day or 2 or even more?

  1. I love these. You are doing a great job. I’d love this class. I just need a #2 cutter blade for my Townsend.
